What you'll do

Overview

This market tour and cooking class in Lisbon begins at the neighbourhood market in Algés, where two native chefs introduce the fish, shellfish and seasonal produce that Portuguese cooks rely on. The three-hour experience then moves to their boutique studio nearby.

What you'll make

A starter, main course and dessert in the Portuguese tradition, with fresh seafood at the heart of the menu and vegetables picked on the chefs' family land in Mafra.

How the session runs

At the market you meet the vendors, learn to recognise local fish species and hear how the seasons shape what Portuguese families eat. Back in the studio the group cooks hands-on, practising traditional techniques under close guidance. Everyone then sits down at the chef's table to share the meal, accompanied by chilled Vinho Verde.

Who it's for

Seafood lovers and curious cooks of any level, in groups of two to ten. Children must be at least 8. Because the menu revolves around fish and shellfish, it does not suit vegans or anyone with a seafood allergy; other dietary needs should be sent by email at least 72 hours ahead. Solo travellers are asked to email before booking.

Private & team bookings

The studio can be booked exclusively for families, friends or corporate teams, seating up to 15 guests or 20 for a standing reception, with a custom proposal on request.
