What you do

The pottery is already made; your job is to make it yours. You choose a piece of unglazed bisque ware, sketch a design in pencil and paint it with underglazes, using sponges, stencils, wax resist or fine brushes. The host explains how colours change in the kiln, so the pale paint on your brush comes out bright and glossy. It is relaxed enough to talk through and absorbing enough that phones stay in pockets.

What you take home

Your piece, glazed and fired by the host, usually ready to collect within a week or two.

Who it suits

Mixed groups of any size, including people who say they cannot draw. Easy to run at the office or alongside a meal.
