This two-tile azulejo workshop in Lisbon adds half an hour to the basic session, giving you time to paint a pair. It is held in the Graça atelier and is the more popular of the two standard options.
You create two hand-painted tiles, matching or contrasting, using mineral pigments on raw glaze. They are fired in a high-temperature kiln overnight so the colours fuse into the glaze.
Plan on roughly an hour and a half. An artist demonstrates and then guides you stroke by stroke, with a choice of geometric or freestyle designs. Sessions start daily at 10:30 and 15:00. Your tiles can be collected the next day or delivered to your hotel for an extra charge.
Anyone who wants a finished set, such as couples, friends or families. No painting background is required.
Bigger parties can ask about a session of up to twenty people.
