Embroidery
Learn a handful of stitches and embroider a design in a hoop, from botanicals to lettering.

What you do
The host starts with the basics: setting fabric in a hoop, threading and splitting embroidery floss and transferring a design. Then you learn a handful of stitches, such as back stitch, satin stitch, French knots and lazy daisies, and use them to fill a pattern of flowers, leaves or lettering. Some classes help you design your own motif or stitch onto a tote bag, a jacket or a cushion cover. It is slow and soothing, and progress shows with every stitch.
What you take home
Your finished or nearly finished hoop, and often the threads and pattern to complete it at home.
