What you'll do

Overview

This hand-building pottery class in Paris takes place on Saturdays from 2pm to 5pm in a light-filled studio in the 11th arrondissement. It is open to all levels from age 12.

What you'll make

A piece of your choice, with or without a pattern to follow. It can be decorative, artistic or practical, and you can decorate it with slip or carve into it.

How the session runs

A demonstration shows the main techniques: pinching, building with coils and working with slabs. You are then guided as you shape your own piece over three hours. The studio glazes and fires everything, and it is ready within a month at most, with postage available for people outside Paris.
