What you'll do

Overview

This sushi making class is taught by a professional sushi chef and runs for roughly two and a half to three hours. It starts at the very beginning with the rice and finishes with a plated platter.

What you'll make

You work through classic California-style rolls, hosomaki and special maki, and learn how nigiri and inari are prepared. At the end there is an open round to practise again and make extra pieces, and every guest takes home a booklet of recipes.

How the session runs

The chef demonstrates each technique step by step and welcomes questions along the way. All ingredients and equipment are laid out for the group to share. You will also pick up some Japanese sushi customs and table etiquette. Vegetarian sushi can be made if you tell the team in advance.
